Job summary

Running Point Recruitment is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer in the United Kingdom (hybrid). The role focuses on developing data capabilities, building pipelines, and delivering Power BI reporting to support business decisions.

You will work with Python, SQL Server and Power BI, reporting to the Business Information Manager, shaping data practices and AI-ready foundations as the team grows.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in BI, data engineering or related role.
• Strong SQL skills including complex queries and performance optimisation.
• Practical Python experience for data processing.
• Experience developing ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong Power BI experience across data modelling and DAX.
• Understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
• Experience integrating data from multiple sources.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve data pipelines using Python and SQL Server.
• Build data transformations and models to support reporting and analysis.
• Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and semantic models.
• Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Investigate discrepancies and improve data quality.
• Improve performance and maintainability of pipelines and reports.
• Contribute to consistent definitions of business measures and reporting standards.
• Strengthen development practices (source control, testing, documentation, deployment).
• Evaluate platforms and approaches and explain strengths/limitations related to cost and value.
