2M Group of Companies is seeking a highly motivated Business Intelligence Developer and Data Engineer in the Cheshire area. This hybrid, permanent role focuses on turning complex data into clear insights through robust Power BI reporting and scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong Power BI experience.
• Confident SQL skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or a comparable modern data platform.
• A solid understanding of data modelling and data engineering principles.
• Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The confidence to take ownership of technical problems and work independently.
• The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models.
• Designing and improving ETL and ELT pipelines using SQL, Python and, where appropriate, PySpark or Spark.
• Working with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, data warehouses, lakehouses and data lakes.
• Translating business requirements into practical BI and data solutions.
• Building robust data models and improving data quality, documentation and governance.
• Helping to consolidate reporting and data sources onto a single governed platform.
• Using version control and DevOps practices to support reliable development and deployment.
• Exploring practical uses of AI, machine learning and automation.
• Investigating and resolving complex BI, data and reporting issues.
