Job summary

The Woodland Trust is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to build an analytics platform across the organisation, designing and implementing insightful reporting. You will engage stakeholders, gather requirements, and deliver automated BI for internal and external use, with a hybrid working arrangement from Grantham head office and occasional travel.

This full-time role emphasizes data governance, performance, and real-time data intelligence to drive decisions.

Qualifications

• T-SQL query writing and data architecture understanding.
• Power BI experience including Azure SQL and Dynamics 365 CRM integration.
• Experience gathering requirements from end-users and communicating technical concepts.
• Advanced Excel skills with Pivot tables and data analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of release management, change control, QA and source control.
• Data governance, master data management and GDPR/regulatory awareness.
• Desirable exposure to NoSQL and cloud data platforms (Azure Data Lakes / Azure SQL Server).

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to define and produce insightful, automated BI for internal and external use.
• Work with data sources using SQL, NoSQL and cloud technologies (Azure).
• Backwards engineer existing reporting to improve performance and investigate data issues.
• Specify requirements for analytical reporting layers with Data Engineering.
• Provide accurate, real-time data intelligence for decision-making.
• Support Data Strategy and tactical activities with insights and observations.
• Keep up with BI tech trends and drive insight innovation across the business.
• Communicate progress and deadlines clearly with end-users and line manager.
