Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking an Area Manager / Area Matron to lead blood donation services across a defined geographical area, ensuring safe, high-quality, efficient services and an excellent donor experience.

You will develop a dispersed workforce, use performance data to drive improvement, manage budgets and resources, and collaborate with managers, clinicians and stakeholders to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Adult/General).
• Educated to Master's level or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Blood Safety and Quality Regulations (BSQR) and GMP.
• Valid driving licence enabling you to drive in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage blood donation teams across a defined geographical area.
• Ensure donor and product safety and adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
• Lead and develop a dispersed workforce; manage performance against KPIs and targets.
• Champion an excellent donor experience and use data to drive improvements.
• Lead continuous improvement, change, and investigations within your area.
• Manage budgets, resources, premises, and expenditure effectively.
