Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking an experienced Nurse Lead to manage a team responsible for the safe collection of blood and blood products. You will ensure high standards of donor care, lead by example, and collaborate with stakeholders to plan and resource donation sessions.

You will undertake induction and ongoing development to enhance leadership skills and deliver excellent donor experiences, with flexibility to cover sessions including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Adult)
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Evidence of continuous professional development

Responsibilities

• Take clinical accountability and operational responsibility for ensuring the safe collection of blood products
• Lead by example, promoting core values and delivering an excellent donation experience
• Oversee and maintain the competency and skills of your team and yourself
• Motivate your team to promote continuous improvement and staff development
• Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to plan and resource blood collection sessions
