Job summary

Yorkshire Building Society is seeking an API & Microservices Software Development Engineer to join our Engineering team. You’ll design, develop, document, and test automation for APIs and microservices that power YBS’s digital platforms.

This hybrid role involves collaboration across teams and occasional out‑of‑hours support. You’ll work on delivering APIs and Java Spring Boot microservices, implement automated build pipelines and monitoring capabilities, and collaborate with Tech leads,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience in API and microservices design.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern development practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver APIs and Java Spring Boot microservices underpinning digital platforms.
• Implement automated build pipelines and monitoring capabilities.
• Lead peer reviews of documentation, code, and tests.
• Collaborate with tech leads, architects, analysts, Scrum Master and Product Owners.
• Ensure system design meets current and future architecture and infrastructure requirements.
• Provide out-of-hours support for services.
