Job summary

NRL Group in Wigan is seeking an experienced IT professional to maintain and develop core infrastructure, supporting over 200 users. The role is hands-on, based in Wigan with hybrid working (one on-site day per week after embedding period).

You will help shape the future of IT systems and services across the group. The ideal candidate has 5+ years' experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and PowerShell, with strong networking knowledge and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Client/Server environments.
• Strong knowledge of Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra ID).
• Skilled communicator with excellent problem-solving and organisational abilities.
• Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs) and device management.
• PowerShell scripting proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert third-line support for Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and OneDrive.
• Manage and secure devices through Intune, Autopilot and Microsoft Defender across remote and in-office users.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain Azure infrastructure including compute, networking and storage.
• Support business-critical platforms such as CRM, payroll systems and internal portals.
• Administer and maintain physical network infrastructure at all NRL sites.
• Oversee business continuity, backup, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Develop and maintain IT process documentation and user onboarding materials.
• Provide escalation support for incidents and cover the IT Helpdesk during absence.
