National Grid plc is hiring an ambitious HVDC Procurement Business Partner to shape procurement and supply chain for major HVDC infrastructure projects in the UK. You'll act as a trusted advisor to business and procurement teams, developing category strategies, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks, while aligning delivery plans with strategic priorities and executive-level decision making.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategy, category management, supply chain or related functions in large, complex or regulated environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to turn data into action.
• Balance long-term strategic thinking with practical delivery considerations.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; translate complex information into clear recommendations.
• Collaborative approach with ability to build strong cross-team relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVDC category strategies for equipment and services, translating market insights into actionable plans.
• Provide forward-looking supply chain intelligence to support planning and forecasting.
• Partner with engineering, project, commercial and finance teams to align delivery plans with procurement strategies.
• Support portfolio governance with strategic insight into readiness, risk and deliverability.
• Produce high-quality analysis, presentations and recommendations for executive decision making.
• Contribute to growth and development of the category team through collaboration.
