Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a Project Engineer - Interfaces to join the HVDC Engineering Team as part of the Pathway to 2030 programme. The role focuses on delivering critical interface management across HVDC and multi-disciplinary projects in Scotland.

You will manage design interfaces, maintain registers, and drive timely, quality submissions through ACC while liaising with contractors and SSEN teams. A degree in engineering is required, with Chartered status desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering.
• Proven experience delivering project engineering, design coordination or interface management.
• Experience managing interfaces between teams, contractors and disciplines.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design coordination and managing interdependencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering design interfaces across multi-contract delivery (HVDC, AC, Civils, Cables).
• Own Design Interface Registers and coordinate inputs with contractors.
• Oversee design submittals using ACC for timely, traceable submissions.
• Serve as key link between SSEN teams and external partners, communicating risks and decisions.
• Promote safety culture and ensure CDM compliance and engineering standards.
• Support development of interface management best practices across the project.
