Job summary

SSE plc is hiring an Assistant Electrical Project Engineer to join the HVDC team in Aberdeen/Inverness. This permanent, full-time role offers a salary and benefits package with a car allowance and annual bonus.

The role focuses on providing electrical engineering support, site supervision during construction, and applying CDM regulations to deliver safe, buildable designs within the Pathway to 2030 program.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant UK construction experience.
• HVDC/Power project engineering experience preferred; transferable experience considered.
• Sound knowledge of industry standards, CDM Regulations; proactive, safe and buildable design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and within project teams.
• Understanding of multi-disciplinary teamwork; willingness to learn across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering support to the project(s), reviewing supplier documentation and engaging with suppliers as required.
• Provide site support during the construction phase, including site supervision, resolving technical queries, identifying non-conformances/quality issues and closing out actions.
• Support the electrical engineering team to resolve technical issues and undertake engineering governance.
• Apply CDM Regulations in your role as a Designer, supporting safe and buildable solutions and develop scopes of work and detailed specifications.
