Job summary
SSE plc is seeking an Assistant Electrical Project Engineer to support SSEN Transmission's HVDC network in the UK, with base locations Aberdeen or Inverness. You will provide electrical engineering support, review supplier documentation, and assist during construction to ensure safe, buildable designs and timely delivery.
The role offers permanent, full-time employment with flexible working options, a competitive salary of £44,000–£52,000 plus car allowance, annual bonus, and a broader benefits
Qualifications
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant technical exposure in the UK construction industry.
- Experience in electrical project engineering; HVDC/power experience preferred or transferable.
- Solid knowledge of industry standards, CDM Regulations, and safe buildable design.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering support to the project(s) and review supplier documentation.
- Offer site support during construction, supervise on site, resolve queries and close actions.
- Assist the electrical engineering team to resolve technical issues and ensure governance.
- Apply CDM Regulations to develop safe, buildable scopes of work and specs.
