Job summary

Mitie is recruiting an HVAC Technical Support Operative for Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool to join a team delivering planned and reactive maintenance across critical HVAC and building systems.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers to maintain a safe, compliant environment for patients, visitors and staff, with opportunities for ongoing training and career progression within Mitie’s healthcare division.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand and power tools within a maintenance or facilities environment.
• Strong problem-solving ability to identify faults and support repairs.
• Good communication and collaboration with colleagues, contractors and customers.
• Comfortable using computer systems and mobile PDA devices for work management.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance, repair and operation of HVAC systems including AHUs, fan coil units, extract fans, ventilation systems and BMS controls.
• Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding and small project works across the estate.
• Respond to reactive issues, making equipment and systems safe while supporting service continuity.
• Complete work orders, risk assessments and maintenance records accurately using PDA and FM systems.

We're looking for an HVAC Technical Support Operative to join our team at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across a range of critical HVAC and building systems. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll help ensure a safe, compliant and reliable environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Role Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance, repair and operation of HVAC systems including AHUs, fan coil units, extract fans, ventilation systems and BMS controls.
