Job summary

WSP is recruiting a Project Manager (HV/EHV) to join the UK Transmission and Distribution team. You will lead pre-construction and construction activities for large-scale HV infrastructure projects, with responsibilities from design to energisation across 33kV–400kV.

You will manage feasibility, detailed design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, interfacing with clients and multi-disciplinary teams. A strong grounding in HV/EHV plant and CDM requirements is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience managing large and complex HV and EHV substation projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution plant items operations, controls and associated systems (AIS/GIS switchgear, Protection & Control, Power Transformers, Underground power cables, Overhead lines).
• Optioneering to select substations configurations as per requirements.
• Project Management delivering CAPEX and Customer connection projects 33kV–400kV.
• Design knowledge of AIS & GIS substations up to 400kV.
• Knowledge of HV/EHV Plant engineering standards and earthing/clearances.
• HS and CDM requirements for large scale projects; ability to act as Designer and Principal Designer under CDM.

Responsibilities

• Develop HV and EHV project requirements into compliant engineering solutions.
• Manage development and delivery of HV & EHV projects to time, cost, safety and quality.
• Interface with customers and internal/external resources for HV & EHV projects.
• Act as CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for HV/EHV projects.
• Communicate with internal engineering and industrial resources.
• Coordinate external service providers and oversee commercial elements.
