Job summary
Arup is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in power transmission and distribution to support the design and delivery of HV/EHV infrastructure projects. You will work within multidisciplinary teams on substations, cable systems and the wider power network, developing technical expertise and progressing towards professional registration.
You will prepare and review SLDs, equipment specs, cable calculations, earthing designs, protection and control schemes, and technical reports,
Qualifications
- BEng/MEng or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in power transmission and distribution.
- Experience on electrical infrastructure and power networks.
- Understanding of HV electrical systems and power engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to produce calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review a range of engineering deliverables (SLDs, equipment specs).
- Perform cable calculations, earthings, protection and control schemes, and technical reports.
- Contribute to design of substations, cable systems, and HV/EHV infrastructure.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams for integrated designs.
- Support tender documentation, bid evaluations, and supplier submissions.
- Perform site visits and support project delivery.
