Job summary

Arup is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in power transmission and distribution to support HV and EHV infrastructure projects in the UK. You will work within multidisciplinary teams on substations, cable systems and broader power networks, applying UK and international standards and delivering a range of engineering outputs.

You will use industry tools such as PowerFactory, ETAP and PSCAD to support technical analyses, calculations and reporting, while coordinating with other

Qualifications

• BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical Power Systems or a related discipline.
• Experience in power transmission and distribution projects.
• Experience with electrical infrastructure, power networks or similar projects.
• Familiarity with 132 kV–400 kV transmission scales and associated design.
• Ability to produce calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of HV/EHV infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to the design of substations, cable systems and electrical infrastructure.
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, cable calculations and earthing designs.
• Develop protection and control schemes and technical reports.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support tender documentation and bid evaluations.
• Site visits and project delivery support as required.
