Job summary

Laing O’Rourke’s Power team in Bridgend, South Wales, seeks an Electrical Engineer to support HV/EHV projects on the Brocastle scheme for National Grid, delivering electrical design and on-site delivery.

You will work with contractors and project teams, review drawings and documentation, and develop exposure across substations, transformers, switchgear, protection and testing, while prioritising safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project teams, contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Involved in the design, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, schematics and technical documentation.
• Coordinate works on site with specialist contractors, suppliers and project teams to ensure safety, efficiency and quality.
