Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their Power team for the Margam and Port Talbot project in South Wales. The role covers both electrical design and site delivery on HV/EHV power systems, substations, transformers, switchgear and protection and control systems.

You’ll gain experience across design, installation, testing and commissioning, reviewing drawings and technical documentation while coordinating with designers, contractors and site teams to ensure safe,

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
A few years of practical electrical engineering experience.
Experience with electrical designs, drawings, specifications and schematics.
Understanding of electrical design principles and equipment/systems.
Experience coordinating with contractors, suppliers or site teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and collaborative skills.
Commitment to health, safety and quality.
Interest in Power, HV/EHV and major infrastructure career development.
Proactive approach to learning and development.

Responsibilities

Support HV and EHV electrical works across design and site delivery.
Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
Coordinate with designers, specialist contractors, suppliers and site teams to ensure safe, quality delivery.
Assist across design, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
