As the HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our ongoing growth and transformation, guiding our organizations transition to a business partnering model. The successful candidate will have a solid foundation in HR operations, thorough understanding of compliance, and a demonstrable ability to enhance organizational support through effective HR practices. Working closely with the Head of People & Communities, the HR Manager will play a key role in navigating our organisation through periods of change and ensuring a positive, compliant, and supportive workplace.   • Strategic Support and Business Partnering: Provide HR support to department managers through a business partnering approach, aligning HR approaches with departmental and organisational objectives. Supporting the organisational and cultural change work lead by the Head of People & Communities to become embedded knowledge and stable routine practice and procedure.
  • HR Compliance and Operational Leadership: Act as the lead authority on HR compliance, aligning all practices with UK employment laws and regulations. Manage the HR department's day-to-day operations, encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Employee Handbook & Policies: Regularly review and update the employment handbook, presenting a proposed changes and suggestions to the head of the department. Keep policies up to date and effecting - analysing current organisational practises and ensuring best practices are enhanced across the organisation.
  • Line Management and Team Development: Directly manage the HR Coordinator and Payroll Administrator, guiding their development and setting clear performance objectives.
  • Payroll Oversight and Support: Oversee the payroll function, providing necessary support and guidance to the Payroll Administrator, especially in complex situations requiring nuanced judgement.
  • Employee Relations (ER) Management: Handle all aspects of employee relations, including managing grievance procedures, facilitating consultations, and overseeing disciplinary processes. Ensure these processes are conducted with fairness, respect, and adherence to best practices and legal standards.
  • Reporting:Ensure effective systems are in place to provide the business with key HR metrics. Provide accurate and timely updates for our internal reporting regime.
  • 4+ years of relevant HR experience, with a preference for candidates who have gained this experience across at least two different organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to line manage and develop others
  • Knowledge of diverse employment practices, with experience in environments employing both hourly and salaried workers.
  • Ability to coach, challenge and influence line managers in organisational practises.
  • CIPD accreditation viewed favourably but not essential
  • Experience of HR information systems, with SageHR and Deputy knowledge advantageous.
  • Salary of £41-48k DOE
  • 28 days paid annual leave, pro rata to your hours of working.
