We are currently recruiting for an HR & General Affairs Lead for a Japanese company based in London.

This is a rewarding position where you will support both Japanese and European businesses in a diverse, multinational team environment.

We welcome candidates who have strong expertise in HR, are well-versed in both UK and Japanese business practices, and enjoy working in a fast-paced setting at the intersection of digital marketing and global business.

[Position Overview]

As the HR & General Affairs Lead, you will oversee a wide range of HR and internal support functions.

This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of HR operations, including payroll, visa management, compliance, and employee engagement.

You will also work closely with both local staff and the Japan HQ to align with global HR strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full spectrum of HR operations: payroll, tax, visa processing, attendance management
  • Employee engagement and performance evaluation management
  • Development and implementation of internal policies and benefit programs
  • Coordination with the Japan HQ and internal departments
  • General affairs tasks such as facility and contract management, internal events
  • Governance support and audit preparation

Please note: The scope of responsibilities may vary depending on business needs.

[Requirements]

Required:

  • 5+ years of HR/General Affairs experience (both operational and strategic)
  • Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese
  • Hands-on experience in payroll, visa management, and policy compliance
  • High attention to detail and adaptability
  • Experience in team leadership/management
  • Must hold a valid visa with full-time working rights in the UK

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of UK employment law and visa procedures
  • Experience in HR management for both expatriates and local staff
  • HR certifications (e.g., CIPD)
  • Familiarity with SaaS-based HR tools

[Working Conditions]

  • Location: London (Hybrid work available)
  • Working hours: Weekdays, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
