Job summary

A leading international law firm in Birmingham is seeking a People Advisor for a 6-month FTC. The role includes acting as the first point of contact for HR queries, managing employee relations, and supporting HR initiatives. Job description

My client is a leading international law firm, with offices in the UK, Middle East and Asia, renowned for their Real Estate and Litigation work, are now looking to recruit a hardworking and dedicated People Advisor, to join their Birmingham office, on a 6 month FTC basis.

The People Advisor will work as part of the wider HR Business Partnering team, supporting various Practice Groups and working closely with HR Manager’s within the team.

The key duties will include:

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries and escalate complex issues to HR Manager’s.
  • Support the delivery of the firm's HR strategy and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to line managers on HR policies and best practices.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory leave legislation and processes.
  • Collect and prepare monthly payroll information with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Update employee relations trackers and liaise with compliance teams.

The People Advisor will be CIPD qualified, have previous HR experience within a law firm or wider professional services environment and be a self-starter. The People Advisor will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage their own workload, be organised and able to manage sensitive HR matters in a calm and professional manner.
