Job summary

Totum Partners in Birmingham seeks an experienced HR & Employee Relations Advisor to manage a varied ER caseload, including complex performance, capability, disciplinary, grievance and restructure matters. You will advise managers and partners, balancing employment law, risk and commercial considerations, while producing clear case documentation.

The role also involves coaching managers, using ER data to identify trends, supporting organisational change and improving HR policies and processes

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience managing complex ER caseloads including performance, capability, disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law and case law.
• Ability to advise and challenge senior stakeholders with clear written communication.

An international professional services firm is looking for an experienced HR & Employee Relations Advisor, based in Birmingham.

You will manage a varied ER caseload, including complex performance, capability, disciplinary, grievance, appeal and restructuring matters. You will advise managers and partners, balancing employment law, risk and commercial considerations, while producing clear case documentation and maintaining a consistent approach.

The role will include:

• Managing ER cases from initial advice through to resolution
• Coaching managers and junior HR colleagues
• Using ER data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Supporting organisational change and wider people projects
• Improving HR policies, processes and ways of working

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong experience of complex ER case management
• Sound knowledge of UK employment law
• Confidence advising and constructively challenging senior stakeholders
• Clear written communication and strong attention to detail
• Experience in a law firm or regulated environment would be useful, but is not essential
