Job summary

Via East Midlands Limited is seeking a Hub Scheduler to join our Programme and Contract Management team on a 12-month fixed-term contract at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.

You will schedule reactive, programmed and emergency works, triage defect notifications, and liaise with subcontractors to maintain productivity and quality across highway projects. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in works programming/scheduling
• Experience in highways-related environment
• Strong ICT skills with Word and Excel, email and internet
• Experience dealing with internal and external customers
• Ability to plan, prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a busy office
• Good numeracy and data accuracy

Responsibilities

• Schedule reactive, programmed and emergency works to ensure workload for resources
• Triage defect notifications and allocate work using asset/works management system
• Submit roadwork permits and applications ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Arrange sub-contractors to assist in delivery of work when necessary
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure works information is received within agreed timeframes
• Comply with internal and external standards of statutory responsibilities and procedures to maintain quality service
• Input and manage data for attendance to incidents on the network to support cost recovery
• Provide flexible support during adverse weather events to maintain service quality

What you'll do:

• Schedule reactive, programmed and emergency works to ensure sufficient workload is allocated to operational resources to achieve optimum productivity.
• Triage defect notifications and allocate work, using an asset and works management system.
• Submit roadwork permits and applications ensuring information is accurate, compliant and timely to meet deadlines.
• Arrange sub-contractors to assist in the delivery of work when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that works information is received within agreed timeframes.
• Comply with internal and external standards of statutory responsibilities, duties, policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and high-quality service is maintained.
• Assist with the input and management of data associated with attendance to incidents on the network to maintain detailed manual and electronic records to support cost recovery.
• Provide flexible support during adverse weather events to maintain a consistent and high-quality service.

What we're seeking:

• Knowledge gained through practical experience in a works programming/scheduling environment
• Experience of working in a highways related environment
• Strong ICT skills with experience of using applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and the internet.
• Experience of providing information to, and dealing with internal and external customers in person, via email or over the phone.
• Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload and react to enquires in a busy office environment, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines.
• Good numeracy skills and an aptitude to produce high standards of accuracy when manipulating data.
