Job summary

Via East Midlands Limited is seeking an Adoptions Engineer to join the Developments Team at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. The role emphasises managing site inspections (S38/S278), stakeholder liaison, and compliance with highway standards.

Your experience with civil engineering design, health & safety practices, and driving is essential for successful project delivery and local community impact.

Qualifications

• HNC in Civil Engineering or related subject (or equivalent knowledge) and post-qualification experience.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician and member of a Professional Institution (or working towards).
• Strong ICT skills and experience with computer applications used in engineering design.
• Working knowledge of current highway and civil engineering design standards.
• Knowledge of health and safety, traffic management and related legislation for highway projects.
• Full UK driving licence and a valid CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Take lead role in the management of site inspections related to S38 and S278 works.
• Monitor works progress and address technical queries with external stakeholders to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
• Manage consultation and liaison with clients and a wide range of stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
• Adhere to Health and Safety systems and ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.

What you'll do:

• Take lead role in the management of site inspections related to S38 and S278 works
• To monitor works progress and address day to day technical queries with external stakeholders and their representatives to ensure construction works comply with legal agreements and are undertaken to the required specifications and standards.
• Manage consultation, communication and liaison with clients and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including members of the public and elected Members to facilitate project delivery and maintain positive company reputation
• Adhere to Health and Safety management systems, processes and requirements ensuring full adherence to health, safety and environmental legislation, policy and best practice and safeguarding staff contractors and members of the public.

What we're seeking:

• HNC in Civil Engineering or a related subject and post qualification relevant experience or equivalent knowledge.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician and Member of a Professional Institution (relevant discipline) or working towards
• Strong ICT skills including competence in specialist computer applications used to support engineering design activities including working knowledge of computer aided design and knowledge of data management environments.
• Working knowledge of current highway and civil engineering design standards
• Knowledge of health and safety, technical, traffic management and other legislation and good practice appropriate to highway and civil engineering construction and maintenance activities.
• Full UK Driving Licence and a valid CSCS
