Job summary

Via East Midlands Limited is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Preconstruction team at the Trent Bridge House Office. You will lead highway and civil projects, delivering design, cost advice, and documentation while collaborating with Construction and Commercial divisions and upholding Health & Safety standards.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, professional registration or progress toward chartership, and strong experience across feasibility to site delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related subject.
• Post-qualification experience or equivalent practical knowledge in highway/civil design.
• Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician and membership/working toward chartership.
• Extensive knowledge of highway design standards, contracts and CDM Regulations.
• Experience in budgeting and financial reporting of project programmes.
• Experience across feasibility to on-site construction phases.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of highway and civil engineering projects, including geometry, pavement and drainage design, and contract documentation.
• Provide specialist design, technical and cost advice to colleagues, clients and external bodies.
• Collaborate with Construction and Commercial teams and ensure adherence to Health & Safety management systems.

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Preconstruction team based out of our Trent Bridge House Office.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Lead designanddeliverhighway and civil engineering projects ranging invalueand complexityincluding highway geometric alignment, pavement, and drainage design,specificationand contract documentationto achieve quality, programme and financial targets meeting customer and stakeholder requirements.
• Provide specialist design, technical and cost advice to colleagues,clientsor external bodiesto include checking and approval to relevant standardsto support delivery of complex and large-scale projects across the organisation
• Collaborate with Via’s Construction and Commercial Division and ensure adherence toHealth and Safety management systems.

We are seeking:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subjectandpost qualificationrelevantexperience or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a highway and/or civil engineering design environment.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineeror Engineering Technicianand Member of a Professional Institution (relevant discipline)or working towards with adevelopment plan to gain chartershipor equivalent skills, knowledge and experiencedemonstratedby CDP record
• Extensive working knowledge of current highwaydesign and civil engineeringstandards, contracts,andcurrentConstruction Design Management (CDM) Regulations.
• Experience ofmanaging project budgets and financial reporting of project programme.
• Experience of all stages of project implementation from feasibility to construction on site.
