Via East Midlands Limited is seeking a Depot Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities Team. The role is based at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe with travel to depots as required, contributing to repairs, compliance, and safety across sites.

You will operate plant and equipment, conduct checks, and maintain documentation while upholding our values of Care, Commitment and Community. Hybrid working arrangements are available where appropriate.

Competenze

• Experience in maintenance operations and basic repairs.
• Valid Cat C driving license and Driver CPC are preferred.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.

Depot Maintenance Operative

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Depot Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities Team based out of our Head Office in Bilsthorpe but required to travel across our depots.

What you’ll do:

• Carry out repairs, preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to a high standard.


• Conduct compliance and depot checks, reporting and addressing non-conformance issues.


• Identify repair needs and materials required, escalating priorities to management.


• Induct contractors and subcontractors, ensuring risk assessments and method statements are in place.


• Follow all health, safety and environmental requirements, maintaining a safe working environment.


• Operate vehicles, plant, tools and equipment correctly, completing checks and reporting defects.


• Maintain professional conduct and uphold the company's reputation.


• Complete required paperwork, controlled documents and dynamic risk assessments in line with company procedures.

What we’re seeking:

• Experience working in a maintenance environment


• Ideally hold a Cat C driving licence and Driver CPC.


• Knowledge of building compliance checks and legal/environmental requirements.


• Ability to operate maintenance plant and equipment.


• Able to identify maintenance issues and implement appropriate solutions.


• Competent in record keeping and completing risk assessments.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Able to work independently, as part of a team, and adapt to changing priorities.


• Good understanding of health and safety practices, including PPE and manual handling.
