Job summary

Via East Midlands Limited is seeking a Hub Scheduler on a 12 month fixed term contract based at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. You will schedule works, triage defects, manage permits and coordinate subcontractors to ensure peak productivity.

The role requires highway environment experience, strong ICT skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise in a busy office, with hybrid working and comprehensive benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience in a works programming/scheduling environment.
• Background in highways-related work contexts is preferred.
• Strong ICT skills with Word, Excel, email and internet applications.
• Experience communicating with internal and external customers by various channels.
• Proven ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy office.
• Good numeracy skills and high data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Schedule reactive, programmed and emergency works to optimise resource workload.
• Triaging defect notifications and allocating work using asset management systems.
• Submit roadwork permits and applications accurately and on time.
• Arrange sub-contractors to assist in delivery of work when needed.
• Collaborate to ensure works information is received within agreed timeframes.
• Follow statutory duties, policies and procedures for a consistent service.
• Input and manage data related to incidents on the network for cost recovery.
• Provide flexible support during adverse weather to maintain service quality.

Hub Scheduler - Temporary

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Hub Scheduler to join our Programme and Contract Management team on a 12 month fixed term contract based out of our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.

What you’ll do:

• Schedule reactive, programmed and emergency works to ensure sufficient workload is allocated to operational resources to achieve optimum productivity.
• Triage defect notifications and allocate work, using an asset and works management system.
• Submit roadwork permits and applications ensuring information is accurate, compliant and timely to meet deadlines.
• Arrange sub-contractors to assist in the delivery of work when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that works information is received within agreed timeframes.
• Comply with internal and external standards of statutory responsibilities, duties, policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and high-quality service is maintained.
• Assist with the input and management of data associated with attendance to incidents on the network to maintain detailed manual and electronic records to support cost recovery.
• Provide flexible support during adverse weather events to maintain a consistent and high-quality service.

What we’re seeking:

• Knowledge gained through practical experience in a works programming/scheduling environment
• Experience of working in a highways related environment
• Strong ICT skills with experience of using applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and the internet.
• Experience of providing information to, and dealing with internal and external customers in person, via email or over the phone.
• Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload and react to enquires in a busy office environment, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines.
• Good numeracy skills and an aptitude to produce high standards of accuracy when manipulating data.
