Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council is seeking a committed individual to join our West Hubs (Ely and Caerau Hub/Canton Library) team, delivering high quality front-line customer service on Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Welfare Reform and related services.
The role is part time (18.5 hours per week), temporary until 31 March 2027, with a pro-rata salary of £13,423 per annum. You will work as part of a team, engaging with partners and enabling tenant participation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent customer service skills to join our West Hubs (Ely and Caerau Hub/ Canton Library)
The hubs provide a professional front line advice service to customers on Housing Benefit & the Council Tax Reduction scheme, Housing including the Welfare Reform Act and a wide range of council services including library provision.
You will have experience of working with customers, preferably on a face to face basis with a commitment to providing high quality customer service.
To provide a professional, high quality, customer focuses face to face service.
To advise on Housing Benefit, Council Tax, Welfare Benefit, Money advice, Welfare Reform, Housing Enquiries, Homeless prevention and a wide range of general Council services, resolving enquiries at the first point of contact wherever possible.
To assist in the delivery of a full Library service and participate in the delivery of Hub/Library events. Engage with partners to maximise the use of the hub to include supporting and arranging events & encouraging tenant participation.
You will have good communication and IT skills and the ability to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive manner.
You will work well in a team and will be required to be flexible, particularly in relation to location of work which may vary. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
This post is temporary until 31st March 2027.
