Job summary

Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council is seeking a committed individual to join our West Hubs (Ely and Caerau Hub/Canton Library) team, delivering high quality front-line customer service on Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Welfare Reform and related services.

The role is part time (18.5 hours per week), temporary until 31 March 2027, with a pro-rata salary of £13,423 per annum. You will work as part of a team, engaging with partners and enabling tenant participation.

Qualifications

• You will have experience of working with customers, preferably face to face, with commitment to high quality customer service.
• Ability to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive manner.
• You will work well in a team and be flexible regarding location of work.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, high quality, customer-focused face-to-face service.
• Advise on Housing Benefit, Council Tax, Welfare Benefit, Money advice, Welfare Reform and related services.
• Assist in delivering a full Library service and Hub/Library events; engage with partners to maximise hub use and tenant participation.
