Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council is seeking committed individuals for a part-time position in the Community Volunteering Team. The role involves assisting in the recruitment, training, and support of volunteers across Hubs & Libraries in Cardiff. Ideal candidates will have strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively in various settings.
The position offers training and experience in volunteer recruitment within a community setting. The part-time post is temporary until 31st March 2027, requiring 18.5 hours of work per week.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for committed individuals with excellent customer service skills to join the Community Volunteering Team anchored within Hubs & Libraries across the city. You will have previous experience of working with volunteers and understand the needs they may have.
The successful applicants will assist the Community Volunteer Coordinators to recruit, train, support and coordinate volunteers. Working with community organisations, businesses, and managers to provide guidance and support for the volunteers they are hosting.
You will need to be able to communicate well in different settings, work well in a team, and have a positive attitude to new challenges with a willingness to adapt quickly to change.
Experience of creating and delivering informal training, personal development programmes whilst following systems, policies and procedures.
Good working knowledge of common ICT software applications and ability to advise others on their use.
Experience recruiting volunteers in a community setting would be a considerable advantage but is not essential, as training will be provided.
There is one temporary post available until 31st March 2027.
This post is part time and will work 18.5 hours per week. The pro‑rata salary is £12,994 per annum.
