Are you an experienced HR Policy & Employment Law Specialist with experience working in the public sector?

I am working exclusively with an academic-focused government department on an initial 6-month temporary HR Policy & Employment Law Specialist position with the possibility of extension. The government department is looking to bring in a new specialist interim HR team to help the organisation through a busy and challenging time. They are keen to meet with highly experienced senior HR professionals who can come in and make an impact immediately.

The key duties include:

1. Reviewing and updating current HR policies, making changes where necessary.
2. Identifying gaps and ensuring compliance.
3. Completing the HR Policy handbook, ensuring all policies are accessible to employees.
4. Using your UK employment law knowledge to advise HR Business Partners.

This outcome-focused role is ideal for an HR Consultant with a strong policy background. It will sit outside IR35, paying around £500 per day. The role offers flexibility with offices in London (Canary Wharf) and Swindon, requiring attendance 1-2 days per week.

The ideal candidate will have experience in both public and private sectors, with beneficial experience in employment law outside the UK. Prior experience within central government is highly advantageous.

The client, who prefers confidentiality at this stage, is eager to meet experienced senior professionals who can start by the end of May.
