Neutral Digital is seeking a part-time, proactive HR Manager to join our growing team. You'll play a key role in shaping HR processes and fostering a culture that prioritises support and growth for our valued talent. If you're passionate about HR and eager to support in a creative environment, we'd love to meet you!

About The Job

This is a standalone HR Manager position where you’ll shape and lead all aspects of people operations. You’ll partner closely with leadership to build a dedicated, high-calibre team as we enter a period of growth. From recruiting key roles across creative and technical disciplines to developing clear progression frameworks, you’ll play a vital role in supporting a team of approximately 20–30 core members, shaping the organisation and fostering a strong, people-first culture.

About You

You’re a proactive, people-focused HR professional who thrives in creative, fast-moving environments. You’re confident owning the full employee lifecycle — from hiring and onboarding to performance and progression — and enjoy building thoughtful processes that balance compliance with culture.

This is a new role in the company, so we’re looking for a self-starter — someone who’s excited to take initiative, shape the HR function, and build frameworks that support a growing team. You’ll be comfortable working independently, owning policies and people strategy, while collaborating closely with leadership to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding
  • Partner with department heads on recruitment, retention, and team structure
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook, HR policies (UK compliance), and employment contracts
  • Address employee issues, including managing grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures professionally and sensitively
  • Communicate policy or process changes clearly to the team, in writing or during team calls
  • Manage performance review cycles and individual development plans
  • Design and implement career progression frameworks and training programs
  • Oversee employee benefits, leave policies, and compensation tracking
  • Benchmark salaries and provide insights for pay reviews and incentive schemes
  • Advise on people strategy, organisational planning, and culture alignment
  • Lead wellbeing and engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate with offshore HR team to ensure UK stakeholders are aligned
  • Ensure freelancer agreements are clearly defined and transparent
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a standalone or lead HR role, ideally in a creative, tech, or agency environment
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Strategic mindset with practical implementation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with leadership and external partners
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking and performance tracking
  • Some experience recruiting creatives (designers, 3D artists, developers) with understanding of their career paths
  • Tech-savvy with tools like LinkedIn, CharlieHR, Homerun, Slack, Google Sheets; proactive in researching new platforms
  • Bonus: Interest or experience in design, portfolio review, or talent identification related to creative fields
What We Offer
  • Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum, pro-rated for part-time
  • Part-time hours (~20/week, flexible scheduling)
  • Fully remote working
  • 30 days holiday (22 days + UK public holidays, pro-rated)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Supportive, informal, and creative team culture
  • Opportunities to shape company culture, structure, and strategy
