Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

Playing a pivotal role within the Site Leadership Team, the HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR activity at a site(s), creating and cultivating an inclusive culture where employees thrive. The role acts as a trusted, strategic business partner to the Site Lead focusing on driving cultural initiatives, performance management, talent acquisition, engagement, retention, learning and development and workforce planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive HR capability for the site, providing an efficient HR service to the business in line with business needs.• Providing strong counsel and advice to the Leadership Team and Line Managers regarding performance management, talent, succession planning, organisation development and organisational change management and implement HR aspects of change programmes.• Oversee and manage HR administrative support activities required for effective service provision, coaching and encouraging team members.• Managing employee relations and attendance issues providing excellent coaching to line managers, employee support, case management and tracking.• Drive engagement and collaboration via local site union officials or employee forum.• Execute annual Wellbeing and Engagement surveys and deliver trackable action plans driving improvements and a supportive high-performance culture. • Provide oversight on Apprenticeship and early careers schemes.• Provide local benefit administration where appropriate and closely collaboration with payroll shared service function.• Keeping up to date with local HR legislation & best practice, developing local and regional policies & procedures where appropriate.• Contributing to the development & implementation of HR programmes at site and an annual HR plan in line with Site and Function strategic objectives.• Oversee HR compliance and governance, providing regular accurate HR data and KPIs at both site and regional level including headcount, demographics, absence, gender pay, holiday balances, engagement, talent, wellbeing and engagement. • Implementation of Corporate initiatives at a local site level and contributing to regional and global HR team projects• Other projects and reasonable management requests outside this non-exhaustive list!

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar HR Manager related role in a manufacturing, retail or adjacent industry.• Approaches HR with a professional and commercial perspective.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to credibly influence at all levels and able to deal with people in a diplomatic and sensitive way, building rapport quickly with stakeholders.• Demonstrates confidentiality and professionalism at all times.• Highly organised, displays a high level of flexibility, able to multitask.• Strong understanding of employment law which is applied in a pragmatic way.• Highly computer literate, competent user of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.• Ability to operate at all levels, from day-to-day HR administration and operational tasks to contributing at a strategic level, ensuring alignment with business objectives.• CIPD L5+ or international equivalent and a wish to work towards level 7 is desirable.
