Position: Country HR Manager, Nordics

Location: Europe (fully remote)

THE ROLE

Objective

The key focus will be to provide HR management and support for the Nordic region, mainly Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, within a matrix organization. The HR Manager must understand business unit goals, provide professional HR solutions, and effectively deploy HR policies.

Responsibilities:
  1. HR Planning
  2. Develop medium to long-term HR plans, aligning people and organizational priorities with business goals.
  3. Collaborate closely with the business to support and enhance business activities.
  4. Support resource planning and succession strategies.
  1. Organizational Effectiveness
  2. Provide advice, coaching, and challenge to management to improve organizational effectiveness and foster cultural change.
  3. Promote a high-performance culture by applying performance and development principles.
  4. Manage union relationships positively and collaboratively.
  1. Learning and Development
  2. Develop management competencies through coaching and interventions.
  3. Ensure HR governance and communication processes are followed.
  4. Encourage the use of in-house e-learning programs.
  1. Business Change
  2. Support HR aspects of business changes, including restructuring.
  3. Lead organizational change initiatives with best practices.
  4. Embed change within the organization.
  1. HR Service Delivery
  2. Ensure core HR services meet business needs.
  3. Coordinate with other HR functions like Reward, Recruitment, and Training.
  1. Policy and Process
  2. Contribute to shaping HR policies and ensure their implementation.
  3. Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Additional requirements include being flexible, adaptable, customer-focused, and able to build relationships quickly. Knowledge of Nordic HR laws, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in relevant software are essential.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree in Business, HR, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a consultancy or service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor law, payroll, and employment regulations in the region.
  • Payroll experience for the Nordic region is preferred.
  • Union and workers' council experience is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; Finnish, Swedish, and/or Danish is advantageous.
  • Proactive, independent, and experienced in organizational change.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and stressful situations tactfully.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust quickly.
