HR Generalist — Travel‑Heavy, Multi‑Site HR Support

Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd is seeking an organised HR Generalist to support HR services across our business, reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, SCUK. The role requires regular travel to London, Midlands and Northern offices and project sites, with broader UK travel as business needs dictate.

You will provide operational HR support to managers and employees, guide on policies, and help deliver people initiatives across Infrastructure, Rail and other units.

Qualifications

• Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline desirable.
• CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification, or working towards professional accreditation.
• Strong understanding of UK employment legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line HR guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures and people-related queries.
• Support employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, probation reviews and performance concerns.
• Coordinate HR cases, prepare documentation, take notes and track actions.
• Attend meetings to provide HR support and ensure policy compliance.
• Support investigations by gathering information and coordinating meetings.
• Assist with absence management, wellbeing and occupational health processes.
• Promote fair and compliant people management practices across the business.
• Maintain HR processes and governance in collaboration with HR Operations.
