Job summary

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum (e.g. Certificate in Personnel Practice).
• Experience providing sickness absence advice and generalist HR advice.
• Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to national and local HR initiatives.
• Provide general administration within the department.
• Under supervision, advise managers on disciplinary, grievance, bullying/harassment and performance matters.
• Support and advise on sickness absence, including attendance at hearings.
• Develop and deliver in-house HR training with Learning and Development colleagues.
• Participate in job matching/evaluation (Agenda for Change).
• Be responsible for the 'at risk' process and redeployment register under supervision.
• Contribute to workforce information systems to ensure critical data is available locally.
