Job summary

West Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Income Officer to support residents in temporary accommodation, focusing on welfare benefits, debt management and income maximisation to sustain tenancies and prevent homelessness.

You will work with vulnerable residents, manage a caseload, and contribute to service improvements while ensuring accurate records and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Experience of welfare benefits, temporary accommodation and/or debt advice services.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload with colleagues, partners and external agencies.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records.
• Help maximise income recovery for the Council through housing-related benefits and charges.
