West Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Income Officer in Northampton to support residents in temporary accommodation. You will advise on welfare benefits, debt management and income maximisation to help sustain tenancies and prevent homelessness.

You will handle a varied caseload, coordinate with partner agencies, and contribute to service improvements while maintaining thorough records and ensuring income recovery through housing-related benefits and charges.

Qualifications

• Experience of welfare benefits, temporary accommodation and/or debt advice services.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload.
• Experience of working with vulnerable customers, preparing financial assessments and maintaining accurate records.
