Job summary

Peabody is seeking a Support Worker for our Young People's Service in Witham to help young people build skills, confidence and resilience to live independently. You’ll support those facing homelessness, disability, ill health, or social exclusion to achieve goals and a positive future.

Responsibilities include creating support plans, risk assessments, and reviews; helping with budgeting, cooking, shopping, and tenancy management; enabling access to education, employment, and community services;

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting vulnerable people or in social care.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Caring, empathetic and non-judgemental approach.
  • Confidence working independently, including lone working.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time, onsite role. You'll work five days per week, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis.

Shifts may include:
  • Early mornings
  • Evenings
  • Sleep-in shifts

Flexibility is essential for this role.

Interview Information

We're reviewing applications and interviewing on a rolling basis.

In-person interviews will take place in Witham on 7th, 8th and 11th September 2026.

  • Successful candidates will be required to undertake regular sleep-in shifts
