Job summary

Peabody in Stevenage is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to assist young people aged 16–25 in developing independent living skills within our supported housing.

You will deliver person-centred support, complete needs and risk assessments, help with daily living tasks, and coordinate with education, training, employment, and community services. Some shifts include sleep-ins paid at £73.89 per sleep-in.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting vulnerable people in community or supported living.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building with young people.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to helping others.
  • Able to work independently (including lone working) and in a team.
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office and case management systems).
  • Full driving licence and access to vehicle for travel between schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support to young people living in supported housing.

  • Support residents with daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, and managing finances.
  • Help young people build confidence, independence, and resilience.
  • Support access to education, training, employment, and community services.
  • Assist residents to sustain accommodation and explore future housing options.
  • Work closely with external agencies and partner organisations.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and support planning.
  • Participate in team meetings and training.

Help Young People Build Independent Futures

Peabody is looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to support young people aged 16-25 to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to live independently.

Working with young people who may have experienced homelessness, social exclusion, mental health challenges, or other barriers, you'll provide person-centred support that empowers them to achieve their goals and thrive within their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centred support to young people living in supported housing.

About You
