Job summary

Peabody is seeking a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Young People's Services team in Berkhamsted. You will support young people to live independently, build confidence, and thrive within their communities, delivering person-centred support in supported housing.

The role involves risk and needs assessments, helping with daily living skills, accessing services, and collaborating with external agencies. A rewarding opportunity with funded training and progression.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with vulnerable people in community or supported living settings.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Compassionate, empathetic and committed to helping others succeed.
  • Ability to work independently including lone working, and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle; travel between schemes required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support to young people in supported housing.
  • Complete needs assessments, risk assessments, and support plans.
  • Support residents with daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, shopping, and managing finances.
  • Help young people develop confidence, independence, and life skills.
  • Support individuals to access community services, sustain accommodation, and explore housing options.
  • Work with external agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain records and contribute to safeguarding and support plans.
  • Participate in team meetings and training.

Peabody is looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Young People's Services team. You'll support young people to live independently, build confidence, and thrive within their communities.

This rewarding role involves working with vulnerable young people, including those who may be socially excluded, disabled, unwell, young mothers, or experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centred support to young people in supported housing.
  • Complete needs assessments, risk assessments, and support plans.
  • Support residents with daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, shopping, and managing finances.
  • Help young people develop confidence, independence, and life skills.
  • Support individuals to access community services, sustain their accommodation, and explore future housing options.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and support plans.
  • Participate in team meetings and training.
About You
