Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Housing Support Worker in Pontypool to assist adults facing homelessness and health-related challenges in a supported housing setting. You will deliver person-centred emotional support, guidance, and safety practices within a safe environment.

Role offers flexible hours and a contract arrangement. DBS check is required, with opportunity for development and career progression.

Qualifications

• A strong, empathetic and person-centred approach.
• Experience in social care or supported housing (desirable).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work across a rota (days/nights/weekends as required).
• Enhanced DBS Check (required) and safeguarding commitment.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Supporting residents to follow house rules, maintain safety, and contribute to a positive shared living environment in Roath, Cardiff
• Providing emotional support and practical guidance using a person-centred approach
• Explaining and reinforcing health & safety procedures, reporting concerns appropriately
• Welcoming and signposting visitors/service users, sharing accurate information and guidance
• Working closely with Housing Officers and wider teams to meet individual needs
• Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion and maintaining high standards of customer care

Salary: £14.24 per hour (including holiday pay)

We are recruiting a Housing Support Worker to join a specialist supported housing service in Pontypool. This is an excellent opportunity to support adults experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and/or recovery from substance misuse within a safe, structured environment.
