Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Supported Living / Housing Support Worker in Pontypridd to provide practical, emotional and developmental support to young people aged 16–25 in supported accommodation, helping them build independence and achieve personal goals. The role involves safeguarding, daily living tasks, tenancy support and collaboration with case workers.

The position is temporary/full-time, paying £14.24 per hour with weekly pay.

Qualifications

  • Empathetic approach and strong value base.
  • Experience in social care or supported housing preferred.
  • Mandatory safeguarding compliance and enhanced DBS check.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support young people to maintain safe, clean, and stable accommodation.
  • Assist with daily living tasks (cooking, cleaning, budgeting).
  • Support tenancy responsibilities and payments, property care, neighbours.
  • Build trusting relationships using trauma-informed approach.
  • Support emotional well-being and social connection.
  • Encourage participation in education, training, employment, and community activities.
  • Collaborate with case workers and external services to meet needs.
  • Attend appointments and contribute to support plans and records.
  • Maintain a safe environment and report incidents per policy.

Job Title: Supported Living / Housing Support Worker

Salary: £14.24 per hour

Our client, a leading social care organisation, is seeking a dedicated Supported Living / Housing Support Worker to join their team in Pontypridd This role involves providing practical, emotional, and developmental support to young people aged 16–25 living in supported or transitional accommodation, helping them build independence and achieve personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting young people to maintain safe, clean, and stable accommodation
  • Assisting with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and grocery shopping
  • Supporting tenancy responsibilities, including rent payments, property care, and neighbour relations
  • Building positive, trusting relationships using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
  • Supporting emotional well-being and social connection
  • Encouraging participation in education, training, employment, and community activities
  • Working alongside case workers, youth workers, and external services to support young people’s needs
  • Supporting young people to attend appointments (health, education, housing, legal)
  • Contributing to support plans, progress notes, and incident reports
  • Maintaining a safe environment and responding to incidents in line with organisational policies
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • An empathetic approach and strong value base
  • Ideally, some experience within a social care or supported housing environment
  • Mandatory compliance with safeguarding procedures and an enhanced DBS check
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
