Job summary

Mears Group PLC is hiring a Housing Support Officer in Dundee. You will deliver high-quality housing management and person-centered support to asylum seekers, coordinating move-ins, safeguarding and welfare needs.

The role requires flexibility, resilience and the ability to work across sites, with duties including coordinating with Home Office processes and maintaining accurate records. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Support asylum seekers throughout their application process, ensuring welfare and safeguarding needs are met.
• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals and families.
• Identify needs and put in place support packages to promote independence.
• Work with vulnerable and diverse client groups, including those with mental health needs or challenging behaviours.
• Carry out risk assessments and maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, service users, local authorities, and partner organisations.
• Maintain professional boundaries while being approachable, empathetic, and supportive.
• Work independently, showing resilience and initiative.
• Flexible and willing to travel between sites.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing management and support to service users with asylum seekers.
• Coordinate move-ins/move-outs, voids and inspections within region.
• Monitor compliance with performance indicators and manage risks.
• Identify service users’ support needs and liaise with internal/external partners.
• Maintain accurate records for safeguarding, audits, and reporting.
