Job summary

My Space Housing Solutions is seeking a compassionate Housing Support Officer (Peripatetic) based in the North East, Durham & Teesside. The role involves delivering person-centred support to vulnerable adults across multiple locations, promoting independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.

You will travel between sites, support rent payments, safety checks and tenancy obligations, while coordinating with housing managers and partner agencies to safeguard tenants and sustain tenancies.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable adults or similar settings.
• Knowledge of housing or tenancy sustainment a plus.
• Understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
• Ability to manage workload effectively.
• IT and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored support to tenants with complex needs.
• Develop and review support plans and risk assessments.
• Support independent living skills such as budgeting and self-care.
• Enable access to specialist services and community opportunities.
• Build professional and trusting relationships.
• Manage a flexible caseload across multiple sites.
• Support rent payments, budgeting and tenancy obligations.
• Address anti-social behaviour and tenancy issues.
• Conduct property inspections.
• Prevent tenancy breakdown and eviction.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and complete risk assessments.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Work with local authorities and partner agencies.
• Attend meetings and advocate for tenants.
• Travel between sites to meet service needs.
• Complete health & safety checks and coordinate with contractors.
• Maintain documentation and records.

Location: Based in the North East, Durham & Teesside

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent

Working hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Reporting To: Housing Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities Include

Tenant Support & Engagement

• Deliver tailored support to tenants with complex needs
