Job summary

Norfolk County Council is seeking a Housing Support Lead on a fixed term/secondment basis to lead housing advice and outreach for children and young people. You will work with social care professionals, landlords and housing authorities to prevent homelessness and to improve housing outcomes.

The role offers flexible working, travel within Norfolk, and a focus on safeguarding and family support. The post is 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Provide thorough, professional and timely housing advice to parents/carers, young people and practitioners
• Build good working relationships with landlords, registered providers and local housing authorities
• Provide outreach tenancy support for young people and families at risk of losing their tenancy
• Reduce the number of children and young people in unsuitable and temporary accommodation

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with social care professionals and housing providers to prevent homelessness
• Support young people and families to improve housing outcomes
• Travel within Norfolk as needed and manage your own travel arrangements
