Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Senior Housing Options Advisor to lead a team of Housing Options Advisers within the Housing Advice and Options Service and the single homelessness service across North Northamptonshire.

You will supervise complex homelessness cases, drive prevention initiatives with partners, and shape service delivery to ensure high-quality, compassionate and legally compliant support for residents at risk of homelessness.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs graded A-C and a relevant housing qualification (CIH Level 4 Diploma or equivalent).
• Experience at a senior officer level within a local authority, housing association or voluntary organisation.
• Extensive knowledge of Part 7 Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and related guidance/caselaw.
• Experience of working in a housing options/homelessness service.
• Ability to manage a varied, complex caseload and supervise a team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of Housing Options Advisers, providing guidance on complex cases.
• Oversee triage and casework to deliver high-quality housing advice and homelessness services.
• Monitor workloads and KPIs; ensure timely support for residents.
• Manage a personal caseload of complex homelessness cases and safeguard/inter-agency work.
• Develop prevention initiatives and collaborate with partners to improve services.
