Job summary

Petrus is hiring a Housing Support Worker in Rochdale. The role focuses on delivering support services, empowering service users to live independently, and engaging them with the community. You will maintain case notes, support plans and admin records, and help secure housing benefit entitlements.

The position offers flexible patterns including full-time (37 hours), part-time and flexible working, with a focus on safeguarding and collaborative work across the team.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a support role and ability to assess needs to plan and deliver effective support.
• Experience providing housing support (1 year desirable).
• Strong written and verbal communication, including record keeping and report writing.
• Good IT literacy and ability to use social media platforms.
• Organisational skills to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Able to manage risk and ensure procedures are followed.
• Ability to involve service users, volunteers and the community and facilitate group activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular support sessions to service users and empower them to live independently.
• Keep accurate records, including case notes and support plans, and manage financial/admin records.
• Help service users access entitlements and submit housing benefit claims; pursue arrears where appropriate.
