Job summary

Mid Devon District Council is recruiting a Housing Options Assistant to join the Public Health and Housing Options Service. The role covers 37 hours per week and involves supporting the Housing Options Team, assisting with Devon Home Choice applications and providing customer guidance.

You will manage case data, triage duties, and act as the first point of contact for customers presenting as homeless, signposting to services, and completing case notes.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Business Admin or Customer Services (or working towards).
• Experience in customer service and data handling in a statutory/regulatory environment.
• Strong prioritisation, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Full driving licence and own transport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist applicants with Housing Options applications and provide guidance.
• Triaging cases and maintaining case notes on the system.
• Be the first point of contact for customers approaching the team as homeless.
• Collate data for government returns and support funding bids.
• Liaise with officers and other agencies; provide general business support as required.
