Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a busy housing team on a 3-month temporary contract in the Dartford, Gravesend & Maidstone area. You will manage a portfolio of around 615 properties, handling lettings, tenancy management, rent arrears and estate inspections.

This role requires strong relationships with residents, contractors and partner agencies, and experience using housing management systems and CRM databases. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Housing Officer or in housing management.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage tenancies, tenancy audits and resident enquiries.
• Handle lettings, voids, sign-ups and end-of-tenancy processes.
• Monitor rent arrears and take action to reduce rent loss.
• Manage anti-social behaviour cases from start to finish.
• Carry out estate inspections and ensure health & safety standards are maintained.
• Promote resident engagement and community involvement.
• Maintain records, reports and housing management system updates.
• Build relationships with residents, contractors and local authority partners.

Housing Officer

Pay: 19.71 PAYE or 28.51 Umbrella per hour
Contract: Temporary, 3 months
Location: Dartford, Gravesend & Maidstone
Reporting to: Housing & Estates Manager

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join a busy housing team on a 3-month temporary contract. You'll manage a portfolio of around 615 properties, delivering a high-quality service to residents across lettings, tenancy management, rent arrears, estate inspections and anti-social behaviour cases.

This role is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and confidently manage relationships with residents, contractors and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle lettings, voids, sign-ups and end-of-tenancy processes.
• Monitor rent arrears and take appropriate action to reduce rent loss.
