Job summary

Tate is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join the tenancy services team in Brighton. The role manages a varied caseload, delivering high‑quality housing management services to residents while balancing support, enforcement and safeguarding responsibilities.

Based in Whitehawk Community Hub & Library, you will conduct visits, prepare court documents, and collaborate with partners to achieve positive outcomes for communities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Housing Management, Tenancy Management, Neighbourhood Management, ASB, or similar housing role.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy enforcement, and anti-social behaviour processes.
  • Experience handling complex casework with vulnerable residents.
  • Confidence preparing legal documentation and supporting court proceedings.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 35 hours per week

Please note that this is a fully office based positionWe’re looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join a busy tenancy services team, managing a varied caseload and delivering high-quality housing management services to residents.

This is a rewarding role where you’ll balance tenancy support, enforcement, and safeguarding responsibilities while helping to create safer, stronger communities.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Managing a range of tenancy and housing management cases.

You Will Need
  • Previous experience in Housing Management, Tenancy Management, Neighbourhood Management, ASB, or a similar housing role.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy enforcement, and anti-social behaviour processes.
  • Experience managing complex casework involving vulnerable residents.
  • Confidence preparing legal documentation and supporting court proceedings.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to make balanced decisions, combining support and enforcement where appropriate.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Housing qualification (CIH or equivalent) desirable, although substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
